AMG announces end of partnership with Ducati

As expected Audi’s acquisition of Ducati has had an immediate consequence, AMG, the performance division of Mercedes in a brief note has announced that they have ended their former partnership agreement with Ducati.
“Since the end of 2010 a successful marketing cooperation has existed between AMG and Ducati.
The company takeover by a rival car manufacturer has understandably resulted in the end of any further collaboration.

The takeover of Ducati was never our aim – our focus lies clearly in developing and producing premium performance cars and we will be concentrating all our energy on this.

AMG and Ducati enjoyed some marketing experiences together such as the Ducati Diavel AMG (which will now become a collectors item) and the SLK 55 AMG Streetfighter Yellow, and a couple of commercials featuring the 848 EVO, AMG also sponsored the Ducati MotoGP team as their Official Car Partner and their logo was on the Desmosedici.
