One of yesterday’s best April Fool’s stories (my personal favorite was Iceland to get MotoGP race) came from website Motosprint, who wrote that Casey Stoner was sick again and was going to pull out of the upcoming Qatar race.
According to the Italian website, who could still be pulling our leg and still having a laugh at our expense, one the more famous victims of their joke was Dorna, who contacted Ducati to find out if there was any truth to the story.
Ducati management, took only a couple of seconds to realize that it was April Fool’s Day, but as they say, it’s better to be safe than sorry, phoned Motosprint.
Towards lunchtime yesterday Motosprint also got a call from Hector Martin, Jorge Lorenzo’s personal press agent who congratulated the Italian website for coming up with this story just ten days from the MotoGP season opener with “cavrones italianos, siete dei grandi, Buona Pasqua a tutti!” (Italian sons of a bitch, you’re great.
Happy Easter!)We hope that when Casey Stoner hears about this story he’ll have a big laugh too.
