Two time Japanese Superbike champion (2008 and 2009) and Yamaha M1 test rider Katsuyuki Nakasuga has been called on to sub for recovering Jorge Lorenzo in this weekend’s MotoGP race at Sepang.
For Nakasuga it will be his first MotoGP appearance, but the Japanese rider has wildcarded three times at Motegi in the now defunct 250cc championship from 2002 to 2004 for Yamaha.
The 30-year old currently competes in the All Japan Road Racing Championship, JSB1000 class, and is third in the standings, and knows the Sepang circuit as he was one of the two Yamaha test riders who took part in the official MotoGP tests back in February.
