Despite the sunny skies at Valencia it was another mixed session for MotoGP’s third and final practice session as the track was damp and still drying in certain sectors following yesterday’s rain showers.
For a long while the CRT riders had their day in the sun, on wet tires, until the final 10 minutes when the top riders decided to head out on slicks and post their fast times.
Dani Pedrosa headed the timesheets and with three consecutive fast laps finally stopped the clock in 1’33″033, and he was followed by Tech3’s Andrea Dovizioso who was 0.
031s faster than his team mate Cal Crutchlow.
Stefan Bradl was fourth and the last rider to within a second from Pedrosa.
Nicky Hayden continues to shine at Valencia as he was fifth fastest and the top Ducati rider again.
Reigning World champion Jorge Lorenzo didn’t risk very much as he was sixth andjust 0.
008s ahead of Alvaro Bautista.
Randy de Puniet took his ART to 8th, while Casey Stoner did only four laps but it was enough to record a ninth position.
Michele Pirro on Gresini’s FTR-Honda closed out the top ten.
Valentino Rossi was 11th but he did only 9 laps but he was 2.
7s from Pedrosa.
