Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies laugh off so-called handshake snub

The so-called ignored handshake or the believed snub that Ben Spies received from newly crowned World Champion Jorge Lorenzo at Sepang, kept websites busy for at least a couple of day, much more than comments on Lorenzo’s fantastic season and a deserving championship or Rossi’s win slicing through the field from 11th.

Lorenzo on his Twitter page replied to what fans perceived as extremely bad manners and unsportmanship towards Spies with: “I had some messages asking me why I didn’t pay attention to Spies when he wanted to congratulate me.
I have to say that I didn’t see, dnd feel he was there at that the moment of our celebration.

I just told this to him.
He is a good guy and we have a good relationship.
”The ridiculous controversy was touched on during today’s post qualifying press conference when, who else but Italian journos, asked Lorenzo about what happened.
