Thanks to Italy’s Motosprint.
it and their spies at the Mugello, we can show you the first glimpse of Ducati’s new 2012 Superbike that graces their magazine cover this week.
The bike in it’s Superbike and Superstock version, underwent three days of extensive testing last week by Team Barni’s Superstock rider Danilo Petrucci and Ducati’s test team.

Momentarily dubbed Superquadrata, which translates into super square for it’s ultra short stroke new V-twin engine or Extreme 1200, depending on which side of the pond you’re sitting at, this is the first of the new and much speculated about hypersport bikes that Ducati is going to place on the market in the following years.

Compared to their previous superbike, this one is shorter, lighter and much more compact, but it is really hard to tell how compact it is from this photo because ‘Petrux’ is a physically a big rider and this is a duct taped race spec version.
The new model should debut the Milan EICMA show this November and it’s homologated racing version hit the race tracks in time for preparation of the 2012 championship season.
