Carlos Checa climbed aboard Ducati’s 1199 Panigale for the first time at Misano Adriatico World Circuit Marco Simoncelli today, for a first test of the bike in 2013 World Superbike trim.
Last April, Ernesto Marinelli had stated that Checa was to test the Superbike at Mugello, instead the Bologna manufacturer decided treat fans that arrived for the extremely hot (Italy is under a heat wave with temperatures reaching over 38°C) opening day of World Ducati Week and see the reigning World Champion in action.
Ducati hasn’t released any information about the test, but Checa did tweet, “Ya en la Panigale, con buenas sensaciones hoy en caliente Misano.
Good feelins on the bike, hot Misano today.
Ciaooo!” The Spaniard will continue testing in the following days and all Ducati Superbike riders, from Jakub Smrz, Sylvain Guintoli, Maxime Berger (Team Effenbert-Liberty Racing), Niccolò Canepa (Red Devils) and Lorenzo Zanetti (PATA Racing Team) will also get a chance to test the machine.
