Apparently, both Pata Honda World Superbike riders’ wives are expecting babies in the very near future: Olivia Haslam is due any day now while Tatia Rea will probably have to wait until next month, but the team took the opportunity of the upcoming Silverstone World SBK round to present to the prospective parents two baby-grows – or baby–suits – that replicate Leon Haslam’s and Jonathan Rea’s racing leathers.
Cute, isn’t it?The two suits carry all the sponsor logos that adorn their ‘full-size’ Dainese and Alpinestars leathers of the daddies-tobe, including even each rider’s butt patch.
This way, whether the babies will be boys or girls, they will be able to start emulating their illustrious fathers from a very early age.
The suits were presented at the end of a media Q&A session in the Paddock Show at Silverstone today, ahead of this weekend’s ninth round World Superbike Championship event at the UK circuit.
Silverstone will be the second on British soil of the 2013 season after the Doniongton Park round in May, but recent Suzuka 8 hours winner Leon Haslam had to skip that one because of the injuries he sustained in practice at the Dutch GP.
Jonathan Rea – who was in Japan as well for the famous endurance race but had to watch team mate Kyonari crash out while the team was in the lead – did not miss the first appointment of the year with his home crowd, but on race day he just claimed a 4th place in Race-1 and a pretty disappointing 11th place in Race-2.
We would expect them both to be quite motivated in front of the always warm Silverstone fans.
