About a week ago the French media were reporting that Paul Bird has lost the bid to field factory backed Kawasaki’s next season in World Superbikes and that it had been assigned to WSS team Provec Motocard who was one of the teams who had entered a bid, and today those rumors were confirmed as Tom Sykes took his PBM Kawasaki to the highest podium in a rain drenched race 2 at Nurburgring.
Bird’s team has been running Kawasaki’s for last three years in the championship and has helped develop the current Nimja in it’s first year, however the squad hasn’t had the results that Kawasaki was expecting.
Marco Melandri and Yamaha team manager Andrea Dosoli have been linked to a move to the Green Team, while it’s currently unknown what Paul Bird’s plans will be for next year.
