Former 125 cc rider and now LCR Honda’s boss Lucio Cecchinello is about to celebrate his first 20 years in motorcycle racing, and here’s a nice video featuring the man himself talking about the various stages of his career: early years, the debut in the 1993 World Championship, the birth of his own team while he was still racing in 1996, the first win in 1998, until the transformation in a full-time manager in 2004.
The video is meant to thank all the people that have halped the team out througout the year and feature contributions from several members of the squad.
Just as a reminder, we would like to point out some of the riders who were lucky enough to race under the LCR banner throughout the years: Casey Stoner (in his first season in the premier class), Carlos Checa, Randy de Puniet and Eugene Laverty.
The LCR team (where the initials stand for Lucio Cecchinello Racing, in case you were wondering) is currently competing in the MotoGP class with a satellite Honda RC213V ridden by former Moto2 World Champ and 2012 MotoGP Rookie Of The Year Stefan Bradl, who did not finish the first round of the year in Qatar and therefore lies at the bottom of the table with no points.
However, we believe the German will be able to make up for that at the next round, the GP of the Americas in Austin, Texas, where he will be one of the few riders who had the chance to test it in advance last March.
