The first road test, undertaken by the guys at Edmunds, has proved the verdict already produced on the corners of the Nurburgring: the new Cadillac CTS-V puts paid to European rivalry.
That’s right – the American car is faster than the Mercedes E63 and the BMW M5.
Even on the straight the Cadillac demonstrated more speed than the German competition.
The turbo charged 6.
2 litre V8 makes 0-400 metres in 12.
5 seconds, with exit speed of 185.
6 km/hr – leaving its rivals at 12.
7 seconds and 181.
9 km/hr.
The Cadillac even came off better in braking and through the slalom, with maximum speed at 114.
5 km/hr superior to the 110.
3 of the BMW and the 104.
7 of the Mercedes.
