More gossip on Valentino Rossi's silly season

This year’s silly season theme song regarding where Valentino Rossi is going in 2013 could be Fleetwood Mac’s song “Tell me Lies”, because after learning that several people from Marc Marquez’ entourage stated that the Moto2 star would like to have Rossi by his side next season in Repsol Honda (apparently the sponsor also would like to have him and Honda is starting to vacillate on the idea), and Sportmediaset is reporting that San Carlo, Gresini’s sponsor would like to have the Italian and we now have another bit of gossip from still another Italian journalist that writes for Moto.

it.
This tidbit has Rossi offering a high paying sponsor which would open the doors of the Yamaha factory team.
Many know that Yamaha hasn’t found title sponsor since Fiat and the Italian left, and they have been funding their own racing efforts with just a few partners, but apparently the stumbling block is Lin Jarvis who has no lost love for Rossi and wants and needs to keep Ben Spies on the team to keep Yamaha USA happy.

A very diplomatic Willy Favero, Yamaha’s communication manager, in an interview with Sportmediaset during this afternoon’s MotoGP qualifying session denied he knew anything, but he did say that this season anything could happen … and Jorge Lorenzo was asked what he thought about the possibility of Rossi returning to be his team mate (according to Pramac’s sporting director and all round paddock gossip monger Carlo Pernat, Lorenzo has a clause in his contract that he can veto a proposed team mate) and he too diplomatically and very politcally correct replied that Rossi would be a good choice.
After Rossi’s stinging words towards Ducati he continued off camera during the press conference when he was asked to clarify what he had said to Sportmediaset, Rossi answered, “ “I simply said that Honda, which already is strong and in theory needs less than us a brought a new frame because they think they still have work to do , because they always want to improve, in the Ducati but there is no plan in this sense.
We are going to receive an engine with different characteristics, but regarding the real problem which I told them months ago I still don’t see any solutions on the horizon I repeat: there is no plan,” adding, “It’s not a question of time, there’s just no ideas to solve the situation.
Obviously what we riders are saying isn’t taken into consideration.
” After all this can anyone believe that Ducati still remains Rossi’s number one choice? We doubt it, and from these ’sweet little lies’ from the Italian media, one may actually turn out to be true.
