Why are first spy shots always lousy? No matter, because thanks to one of Solomoto’s readers who actually chased this BMW bike on a highway near Tarragona to get this pic, it allows everyone to get a not so great glimpse at the upcoming liquid-cooled boxer twin model for the BMW R1200GS.

This shot and another on the Spanish website, shows a slightly different bodywork, with the paralever swingarm/drive shaft moved to the bike’s left side and the exhaust to the right and our question is why BMW has decided to go in this direction and will long standing BMW riders accept such a change?Whatever the reactions, the bike already seems to be in its final stages of road testing, so we may see it’s official debut at this year’s Cologne Intermot or at the latest, at the Eicma show.
