ParkingGO MV Agusta team will have 27-year old Christian Iddon and 32-year old Roberto Rolfo at the helm of the two F3 675’s next season in the 2013 World Supersport championship.
Roby Rolfo is a well known name to racing fans- he debuted when he was just fifteen in the 250cc class but he also competed in MotoGP, Moto2 and spent five consecutive seasons in World Superbikes – from 2006 to 2011 with teams like Ducati Caracchi, Honda Ten Kate and Kawasaki Pedercini – but next year will be the first time he’ll be riding in World Supersports.
“I’m really happy to be able to race with MV Agusta in 2013 in a professional like ParkinGO.
I want to thank them for the unique opportunity to run with a historic brand like MV, the year of their return to competition.
I am very motivated and I will put all my efforts to achieve the objectives and be at the top of the class,” said Rolfo who lost his CRT ride with Ioda Racing immediately after the Valencia tests.
Rolfo’s team mate Christian Iddon needs no introduction to British Supermoto fans, as he is multiple Champion, and this season finished 4th ing BSB Supersport championship with Oxford TAG Triumph team after taking two victories, at Silverstone and Assen.
“Concluding this agreement with Giuliano and ParkinGO is the realisation of a dream and is an incredible opportunity for my career,” said Iddon.
“I’ll have to get used to 11 tracks completely new to me and then the concentration will be important, but I believe we can run with the best and challenge.
In any case, there is great potential and I am confident we have the team to exploit this.
I want to thank ParkinGO and MV Agusta for their trust.
I have a contract with an official team and a prestigious brand in only my fourth year of racing on the track, so this is a dream come true.
