After a few laps at Alcarras to check his fitness, Marc Marquez finally completed his first full blown two-day test on his Suter MMXII Moto2 at the Albacete circuit in Spain.
Marquez has been out of action since his crash at Sepang five months ago that resulted in a very long recovery period and eye surgery to correct his double vision, and during the test was able to carry out several short runs (rumors from Spain say that he lapped on the track record) pronouncing himself happy and will be able to take part in the official three-day test at Jerez in ten days time and more importantly will be ready to race at the season opener in Qatar on April 8th.
“Thanks to the fitness check in Alcarrás it was possible to come here to Albacete and make this test a reality,” said Marquez.
“It really has been incredible to get back on the bike again.
These two days of testing have been useful for getting laps under my belt, getting my feel back onboard the Suter and for convincing myself that I can ride at Jerez.
I still have a little way to go, but this is a big first step in my preseason.
I thank the team for their patience all this time, to the sponsors and the fans for their support and best wishes”.
