The special Yamaha TMAX Hyper Modified by Marcus Walz has finally arrived.
When the TMAX debuted on the market in 2001, it basically changed the rules of the motorcycling world with its unparalleled combination of agility, aggressiveness, sporty attitude and innovative design, and Yamaha would like to celebrate the success of its seminal maxi-scooter with a series of three special versions meant to emphasize the uniqueness of this model.
Back in 2011, Yamaha challenged three of the best customizers in the world (Lazareth, Roland Sands and Marcus Walz) to transform their VMAX into something unique, something that reflected their personal style, but this year the ante was raised even further as the Japanese manufacturer asked the same guys to do the same thing with the TMAX.
Marcus Walz is the first one to introduced his own “TMAX Hyper Modified”, a model that brings the whole concept of scoot customization into new and uncharted territories.
Thanks to the adoption of a different exhaust system and a lighter battery, – as well as getting rid of all the useless plastic bits – Walz managed to save 14 kg over the weight of the standard model.
The fairings are made of polished carbon and were made by the customizer himself, while the mirrors on the handlebars are typical of the cafe-racer style.
The saddle is inspired by the VMAX and uses fake black leather with contrasting blue stitching.
Walz chose a blue paintjob that he admits was inspired by the Red Bull F1 car.
Lazareth and Sands are currently working hard on their own renditions, but expect them to appear on our website pretty soon.
