Jorge Lorenzo from Spartan to Crusader

Jorge Lorenzo’s spat with Marco Simoncelli on aggressive riders at the Portuguese GP was carried over at the Le Mans pre-event press conference yesterday.
The Spanish rider was asked what he thought of Valentino Rossi’s statement after the Estoril test when he declared that young MotoGP riders are pussies.

Lorenzo who can sting back with the best of them when provoked replied, “I don’t know.
I guess it must be a little shame to be beaten by ‘kids’.
Every race…” but it wasn’t just left at that, because the Yamaha rider has gotten a bee in his bonnet over Dennis Noyes’ recent interview with Paul Butler where the Race Director was quoted as saying “Roadracing is a contact sport.

”Motorcycle racing is not listed as a contact sport.
This isn’t boxing, where you knockout your rival, here you don’t win if you push your rival off track,” said Lorenzo.
It’s about being the fastest and the best at setting up the bike and who is more intelligent.
It has nothing to do with a contact sport.

Motorcycling is already very spectacular sport, imagine if they gave you points for crashing, I’d retire .
And Lorenzo is going to be crusading in the Safety Commission about punishing dangerous overtaking and riding, but he’ll not find an ally in Casey Stoner, as the Australian no longer attends the meetings, “I don’t go to the safety commission anymore.
It’s like knocking your head against a wall.
Nothing happens.
You put a lot of effort in for nothing in that safety commission.
There are just certain people they listen to, certain people who complain about small things.
