Jorge Lorenzo: I'm going to quit racing in 4 or 5 years

Max Biaggi quit racing at 41, Troy Bayliss at 40, the same for Loris Capirossi, Valentino Rossi still wants to race and he’s going on 33, others wanted to continue, but injuries stopped them, but the younger generation of riders – maybe Casey Stoner’s early retirement had something to do with it – see themselves getting out of the game early to enjoy life.

In an interesting interview with this month’s edition of Riders magazine (see cover), Jorge Lorenzo revealed that he’ll probably continue for another four or five seasons before retiring: “I’m not going to race for a long time.
I think I’ll do another four, five seasons at most, and that’s it.

Then I’ll relax.
Travel.
I’ll race cars.
I won an endurance championship with a Seat Leon and I’ve tried a GP2 and the difference between myself and professional Spanish driver was just a second.
Lorenzo also talked about himself and how he strives to better: “I know that to get where I’m going I have to learn, learn and learn again.

Championship are won with consistency and getting on the podium often, not with a lot of victories and a lot of crashes.
My weak points are the starts, when it’s wet, and braking, but it is important to know that there are some aspects you can improve and if you do not know this you can’t move forward.
” Valentino Rossi’s return to Yamaha doesn’t bother reigning World Champion who said, “Valentino is an excellent rider and I’m not afraid of the inside competition.
I can’t wait to start and have him in the same garage and there will be no wall, which will make me grow up faster and after so many years at the top he wants to see if he can still be fast like he was two years ago.
