Wet and blustery conditions hampered the first day of World Superbike testing at the Magny–Cours circuit in France which was almost a washout so no lap times were recorded.
The day did see several riders who’ve switched teams for 2011 getting acquainted with their new crews and new machines, like Leon Haslam with the BMW S1000RR who also brought with him to the German team Giacomo Guidotti Alstare Suzuki’s former technical director.
Former Xerox Ducati rider Noriyuki Haga got his first taste of the DFX-Borciani Aprilia while former team mate Michel Fabrizio looks like his contract was signed because he tried out the Suzuki.
Troy Corser rode a new version of 2011 BMW and Eugene Laverty got his chance on the Yamaha Sterilgarda R1 he’ll be riding next season.
Tom Sykes and Katsuaki Fujiwara were also present with the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.
