WSBK Assen: Jonathan Rea Blazes to Superpole

With a blistering lap of 1′34.
944 Jonathan Rea took his first ever World Superpole position at Assen today.
The Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team rider was was the only one to dip under the 1.
35 lap barrier.
On the first row alongside Rea will be Jakub Smrz on his Pata B&G private Ducati, while Troy Corser continues with his fantastic form on the ever improving BMW machine, took the third spot.

Leon Haslam who leads in the championship standings completes the front row, while his closest rival, Max Biaggi will be taking off from 11th on the grid.
The second row will see Leon Camier in fifth, just two tenths off the front row and outshining his struggling team mate.

Althea Ducati’s two riders Carlos Checa and Shane Byrne will be side by side on the grid with their 6th and 7th spots.
Michel Fabrizio took the eighth spot while his team mate Noriyuki Haga finished the session in a lowly 15th place.
Cal Crutchlow was 9th and James Toseland will be starting in 1oth after having had a scary moment going off track at high speed during Superpole 2, but the Brit was able to keep his Sterilgarda Yamaha upright and not crash.

Out after Superpole 2: Cal Crutchlow, James Toseland, Max Biaggi, Ruben Xaus, Tom Sykes, Noriyuki Haga and Max Neukirchner.
Xaus had a small crash during Superpole 2.
Out after Superpole 1: Luca Scassa, Lorenzo Lanzi, Chris Vermeulen, Broc Parkes with Vermeulen suffering a small highside that sent him crashing into the gravel.
