Abu Dhabi, Singapore, India all may be on the changing face of the MotoGP calendar in the near future, but so might be the Crimea Grand Prix Circuit.
The new racing complex is located six kilometers from the city of Evpatoria in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, in the Ukraine.
The Crimean circuit designed, by who else but that famed track designer Hermann Tilke, and is currently under construction by Stepracing Team Ltd.
Anatoly Kuchmin co-owner of Stepracing Team Ltd has revealed that the FIM and Dorna are very interested in hosting a race in the Ukraine and will visit the circuit this spring, when the estimated 260 million euro racing complex should be completed.
With Dorna interested the circuit, the promoters may also get the Ukrainian government backing in upgrading the roads from Evpatoria and from the Simferopol airport.
The Crimea GP circuit sponsored Gresini’s Moto2 team and Russian rider Vladimir Ivanov last season.
