We’re well impressed with the Mini E scooter concept despite it coming from the four-wheel world.
It’s just what we’d expect from a company famous for its design and brand appeal.
The Mini Scooter E comes across as cutting edge but cute, innovative and with enough flair to take urban motoring with electric scooters to the levels of mass appeal.
In this video Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW design, explains the vision behind the Mini Scooter E electric concept.
Tellingly, this particular video has been made as part of London’s design week – the right location to further highlight the mix of retro but modern cool that Mini develops.
Van Hooydonk talks the ‘edgy’ Mini brand, luxury, premium products, futuristic Mini scooters and finally, the mod era born in London and associated iconography.
While it’s still a concept “at this stage”, if this gets to production we’re expecting a shake-up in the scooter industry.
