Guliano Rovelli’s World Supersport ParkinGO winning team will make the jump to World Superbikes next season with 2011 World Champion Chaz Davies.
The Australian champion will be at the helm of a Ducati according to British website MCN, even if there hasn’t been an official announcement yet.
Rovelli had be planning to make the switch by taking over the soon-to-be in mothballs Yamaha R1s after the Japanese manufacturer announced they would be withdrawing from the World Superbike championship at the end of this season.
His proposal however was shot down by Yamaha Europe’s Racing Manager Laurens Klein Koerkamp who was in talks with a South African group (the offer disappeared), so the Italian manager instead of waiting around turned to a much more interested Ducati management, who was more than happy to listen to him and give his ParkinGO squad a Ducati 1198 with factory support for the upcoming season.
