Carlos Checa gets a his own personal statue

If a small Italian town like Tavullia can get on the map because of Valentino Rossi, so can Sant Fruitos de Bages, in Catalunya.
This Spanish town’s name to fame is that Carlos Checa was born there and they decided to tribute their home town boy with a life size statue (the make of the motorcycle is unknown) in front of the municipal pavilion of sports.

Present to help celebrate the special occasion were Alex Crivillé, Emilio Alzamora, Marc Coma and Jordi Tarrés.
“I am very happy and moved by this recognition and I hope to be able to continue offering good races to all the fans and the people who have helped me at the beginning of my career,” said Checa.

Carlos Checa currently leads in the standings going into the sixth round at Misano this weekend.
