With just a little over a month to go before the World Superbike season opener at Phillip Island, newbie World Superbike squad Ducati Roma Team has changed its name and will be running under the banner of Red Devils Roma Team.
Red Devils Roma Team was born on the ashes of former Supersonic Racing that was taken over by Andrea Petricca when the original team decided to pull out of the championship at the end of last season.
Petricca says he changed the name because it reminded him of the start of his own personal career: “Red Devils is a name that is familiar from the start of my career and it brings to mind riders like Aldeo Presciutti who raced and won under this name.
We decided to change so as also to be able to carry the name of our city around the world in an important season that will see us take part in one of the most prestigious championships in the world.
”Niccolò Canepa, the team’s sole rider will be testing at Vallelunga for two days this weekend before heading to Australia for the first official Superbike tests that take place February 20-21 at Phillip Island.
