Following the official announcement that Cal Crutchlow will be riding for Ducati for the next two seasons, Yamaha has officially announced that Moto2 rider Pol Espargaro will be racing in MotoGP next season, and as expected for the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 squad.
Espargaro’s move to MotoGP and to Yamaha Tech3’s squad was widely rumored even before the start of the 2013 championship, despite resistance and grumblings from Tech3 boss Herve Poncharal, who didn’t want to let Crutchlow go, but it was Yamaha who penned the two-year deal with the 22-year old Spaniard.
“Yamaha Motor Co.

”“As a result of this contract the 22-year-old will make his MotoGP debut in 2014 with the Monster Yamaha Tech3 Team and will ride the Yamaha YZR-M1.
“Pol Espargaro is enjoying his third season as a key protagonist in the Moto2 Class and is currently lying second in the Championship standings.
”Espargaro will be joining Bradley Smith in the French team, and he’ll also be joining his older brother, Aleix on the MotoGP grid.
