To be or not to be: the KTM Venom

The KTM Venom production seems to have stalled, as the prototype enters an advanced stage of development.
The naked superbike has many KTM fans dreaming and hoping, but now Motorcyclenews has revealed that the Venom might have been shelved, for the moment.

The reasons behind this are that efforts should first be placed on developing a winning superbike, before moving onto a naked superbike offering.

Before spending capital on new ventures, KTM could move into taking advantage of the technologies already at hand, making the RC8R competitive both on the track and in the racing bike market.

Leaving some light at the end of the tunnel for Venom hopefuls, it is expected that the project will experience a slow-down, rather than be completely abandoned.
Currently, the Venom is in the offices of designer Kiska, the style workshop responsible for recent KTM creations.
Fingers crossed: we’d be happy to be riding this tempting naked in two year’s time.
