The last piece of news that we heard about former two time World Superbike champion James Toseland after he was forced to retire with a career ending wrist injury was that he was launching his singing career and had gotten engaged to singer Katie Melua, and was spearheading Bennetts Motorcyclists Matter campaign, and now has added a new job to his busy schedule and will be Donington Park’s new ambassador.

His job will be representing the circuit by attending major races and working within a promotional role during 2012 racing and trackday season.
Donington has always had a special place in the hearts of British motor sport fans and riders alike and it’s great to see that it has a fantastic racing calendar in place for 2012.
I’m excited to see it quite rightly re-staking its claim as the number one bike sport venue in the UK and I’m honoured to be able to play a part in Donington’s season.

The challenge for the World Superbike Championship should be really hotting up by the fifth round at Donington, which means there will be plenty of excitement and on track battles for the large crowd expected to cheer on the British contingent,” said Toseland.

Christopher Tate, Donington’s managing director, said: “James grew up in Sheffield so Donington is his home circuit and we’re delighted to have him on board as our official ambassador this season.
He has a massive national fan base and to now have him on board to promote our venue is fantastic.
”While we would like to add that Toseland also has massive fan base in Italy, and ‘Giacomino’ as the Italians fondly call him was one of the nicest rider’s in the WSBK paddock.
