Valentino Rossi already under the knife – UPDATED

Valentino Rossi is presently undergoing arthroscopy surgery at the Cervesi Hospital at Cattolica to repair the damaged tendons and ligaments on his left shoulder, that he picked up in a motocross training accident last April and conditioned his racing season.

The nine times World Champion had told everyone that he was scheduled to have surgery on Monday or Tuesday at the Humanitas Clinic in Rozzano (Milan), but had fed everyone a red herring in order to avoid the assault of the media and fans outside the clinic.

More news as soon as soon as the doctors issue a statement regarding Rossi’s post-op condition.
UPDATE:Valentino Rossi’s recovery is going well after a two hour surgery are reporting his surgeons Dr.
Castagna and Porcellini, who stated that “the conditions of the shoulder were very critical: Valentino was tough to race with an injury of this type.
The operation went right without any complications.
Usually there are 90 days for the rehabilitation, but every effort will be made to meet the needs of the rider.
Rossi will be giving regular updates about his condition on his personal website valentinorossi.
