Video: Jonathan Rea talks about his crash – confirms will try to race at Phillip Island

Jonathan Rea had to jump off his Honda at 200 km/h during Tuesday’s afternoon’s final World Superbike test session at Phillip Island, after he realised it had caught fire due to a technical problem.
Taken to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and undergoing extensive scans, the Castrol Honda rider has confirmed that luckily he has no broken bones in his hand and wrist, just a lot of swelling, but is slightly worried about his recent scaphoid operation, also adding that the doctors found a small fracture to his collarbone, that could be from a previous crash (he also crashed during the private test last week).

Rea will be leaving the hospital today and has confirmed that he’ll definitely be on track on Friday when the official practice sessions start to check out his fitness.
The Northern Irishman finished third overall in the the two day test session at Phillip Island.
