BMW will be offering a classic six-speed manual transmission on the M6 Coupe and M6 Convertible in late 2013 or early 2014, as an alternative to the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox of today’s models.
An internal source at BMW has reported the news to Car & Driver.
The manual gearbox will be offered in both Europe and North America.
Although the price list hasn’t been reveal yet, we can say the more expensive versions will be equipped with the DCT gearbox.
The 2013 M5 has also been launched at start with the DCT and later equipped – exclusively to the U.
S.
– with the six-speed manual transmission.
The BMW M6 is available with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with Launch Control and Low Speed Assistance systems, and also paddle-shifters at the wheel when driving in manual mode.
