This horrific crash happened in the third hour of this year’s 24 Hour Le Mans endurance race between Victor Carrasco (Yamaha BK Maco Racing Team) and Guillaume Dietrich (Suzuki Endurance Racing Team).
Dietrich, was leading but binned his Suzuki and had to re-enter the SERT garage to fix his bike and when he returned to the track at a slow pace going checking out the repairs on his bike, but at the Garage Vert was hit at high speed by Victor Carrasco.
Carrasco was able to cross the track and get away from the bike carnage and picked up only some bruising on his right thigh while the French rider was much less fortunate, sustaining possible vertebra fractures and a confirmed fractured metatarsal in his right foot and a fractured rib.
