125cc rider Jonas Folger a tested MZ Racing Moto2 during the Valencia test last November and competed in the final Moto2 CEV race of the season (18th) seemed destined to make the move to Moto2, however the 18-year old German has decided to stay in the lower class and dispute the 2012 season in the new Moto3 category with MZ Racing on a Honda machineFolger who won this year’s Silverstone round on an Aprilia RSA for Ajo Motorsport, finished sixth overall in the standings despite a debilitating bacterial lung infection that conditioned several of his performances including a pullout before the Brno GP.
Folger’s team mate will be former IDM 125cc rider Toni Finsterbusch (who wildcarded during the Sachsenring GP taking 12th place with Freudenberg KTM Racing Team).
MZ Racing has yet to define their 2012 Moto2 line-up.
