Yesterday Jonathan Rea underwent surgery at Manchester to remove the pins that Dr.
Mike Hayton put in after the Castrol Honda rider’s high speed crash during warm-up practice at Misano.
Rea fractured his right radius during the Italian round, also sustaining damage to the scapholunate ligament in his right wrist which had to be pinned, chippped his collarbone and also suffered a smal break in his left foot and this is just another of the long line of injuries that the unlucky rider has suffered in this so far dismal 2011 season.
The Northern Irishman will miss the upcoming WSBK Silverstone round after missing the Aragon and Brno races with Alex Lowes continuing to sub for him in the Castrol Honda team.
Rea is expected to be back to full fitness in time for the Nurburgring round, September 2nd to 4th.
