Not wanting to play second fiddle to the Fiat Yamaha team’s new livery for the Laguna Seca GP, the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team also known as Team Texas has also unveiled their new one off livery for the Red Bull US Grand Prix.
The livery depicts the red, white, and blue of the Texas state flag and celebrates the first time Colin Edwards and Ben Spies have raced on the same team in an American Grand Prix.
The special graphics will also appear on each riders’ leathers and on T-shirts worn by both riders.
Spies and Colin Edwards will also be receiving those upgrades that they requested from Yamaha for their home race, but Spies was unable to be specific about exactly what they’ll receive.
“I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but I hope we do get something from Yamaha that makes my job a little bit easier this weekend.
”Laguna Seca is a track that Spies knows well after racing in the AMA series and he also wildcarded for Rizla Suzuki in 2008, finishing eighth.
