The MotoGP qualifying session at Assen saw Jorge Lorenzo take his second consecutive pole postion of the season and the 37th of his career and the 11th in MotoGP.
The Fiat Yamaha rider set a best lap of 1′34.
515 that put him ahead of the field and in tomorrow’s race he’ll be the rider to catch and the only problem that Lorenzo has, is which tire to choose, because he’s fast on the hard as well as the softer ones.

Casey Stoner finished in third and he was 0.

Stoner’s Ducati continues to have clutch problems and this technical issue kept him in the garage in the final and important minutes of the session.
Ben Spies on this Tech3 Yamaha took fourth and his best qualifying position this season and the Texan will be looking for a second podium in Saturday’s race.
After his technical issues and fall during this morning’s FP2, Nicky Hayden finally found some speed at the end of the session to take fifth.
HRC Honda’s Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa are struggling this Assen weekend, but watch out for a Pedrosa holeshot when the lights go out tomorrow afternoon.
Dovizioso and Pedrosa finished in sixth and seventh respectively.
Marco Simoncelli will be going solo for Team Gresini after Melandri’s strange highside, that left him with a dislocated shoulder.
Super Sic will be in eighth followed by Colin Edwards who will not be happy with his 9th spot and Aleix Espargaro closed out the top ten and the first rider over the one second mark form Lorenzo.
