Ten Kate Racing confirms agreement with Gresini CRT

The rumor that Fausto Gresini had turned to Ten Kate to supply his new CRT team with engines and electronics has been officially confirmed by Ten Kate Racing Products on their website:Ten Kate Racing Products goes MotoGP!!TKRP did sign a contract with Gresini MotoGP to be the supplier for engine and electronics for their CRT bike in 2012.

Gresini will participate the new 2012 CRT series with 1 rider.

Chassis expert FTR will develop the new CRT chassis where TKRP will supply the race engines and electronics.
Engine and electronics will be based on the late 2011 WSBK specifications and during the season developed to suit the CRT bike.
Of course the CRT bike will also use the latest fly by wire technology as developed by Ten Kate Racing and used by Johnatan Rea during the last WSBK races of 2011.

With this new system the team manage to achieve some impressive results with 2 pole positions, 1 race win, and 2 3rd places.
Curiously enough former Ten Kate’s 2010 Supersport rider Michele Pirro will be on the Gresini’s CRT Honda, while former Gresini MotoGP rider Hiroshi Aoyama will be riding for Castrol Honda run by the ten Kate’s.
