The weather as expected at Jerez took a turn for the worse and played a part in this morning’s MotoGP warm-up session, that saw Casey Stoner lead the field with a best lap of 1.

The Australian competitive and at ease in both dry and damp conditions, followed by Valentino Rossi and his first time on the Ducati Desmosedici in damp conditions, wishing that he’d qualified better than a lowly 12th yesterday.
Andrea Dovizioso was third, hoping that Jerez will be a Donington 2009 repeat where he won his very first MotoGP race in the wet.
Nicky Hayden made a big step up on the timesheet to take fourth.
While front row runners Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa probably decided that the warm-up session wasn’t the best time to take any risks and finished in 5th and 7th respectively.
With this type of weather conditions anything could happen in this afternoon’s race.
