Ducati will be rolling out their GP12 today at the Mugello with Valentino Rossi getting in another day of testing on the new machine, the third day (after Jerez) of the eight testing days allotted to teams with their officially contracted riders to develop the 1000cc bikes for the new 2012 format.
According to Sportmediaset.
it Ducati’s test team (Vitto Guareschi and Franco Battaini) have been at the Mugello track for the last few days preparing the GP11 for the upcoming Catalunya GP and the new GP12 to see if they have completely resolved the front tire problems they had at the previous test on the newly asphalted circuit.
The new Mugello asphalt has been described by former rider turned MotoGP commentator Loris Reggiani, as smooth as a pool table, now offers a tremendous amount of grip and always according to Reggiani, he expects that lap times will drop almost a second when the Italian GP rolls around this July.
This will be the first time that Rossi will be back at the Mugello after his horrific leg breaking accident last year, so we can expect some photos and comments from Ducati later this evening.
