Following the rumors that the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve circuit in Portimão (Portugal) was in dire financial difficulties and 13th round of the World Superbike season next month was at risk, Infront Motor Sports has stepped in and confirmed that the round will go ahead as scheduled.
“In the last few weeks there had been considerable uncertainty as to whether the race would be held or not, but the World Superbike organizers and promoters can now confirm that the race will take place on its original date in the calendar.
“Infront Motor Sports wishes to express its appreciation for the efforts made by the management of the Portimao circuit to respect its commitments and ensure that the event will go ahead as originally scheduled, in spite of the current difficult situation.
