Italy’s legendary Stelvio Pass motorcycle meet took place last weekend.
After having been cancelled for a couple of years, the 2011 Stelvio Pass Motoraduno started from its historical point of Sondalo, and saw 6,653 motorcycles registered for the event, with more than 10,000 riders participating.
The first Stelvio Pass motorcycle event took place back in 1969 as an intitiative of the Sondrio Motoclub, but it wasn’t until 1973 that the Stelvio Pass was included in the itinerary, taking the event from a touristic motorcycle tour of Italy’s Valtellina valley, to a tour of the famous Stelvio Pass.
The event has also been called the Stelvio Rally and the Stelvio International.
