When it first came out in 2003, the Honda CBR600RR turned out to be a huge leap forward for the whole Supersport class: the model was heavily inspired by RC211V 5-cylinder MotoGP machine ridden at that time by Valentino Rossi, and itd first incarnation not only redefined the performance parameters of the class – thanks to an elastic, powerful, and yet easy to handle engine – but it also began a series of six successive wins in the FIM Supersport World Championship.

In order to keep up with its winning tradition and stay at the top of this class, Honda introduces at the 2012 EICMA the new version of the CBR600RR, featuring some important updates.
The fairings have been completely redesigned to improve its aerodynamic efficiency (and to recall the lines of the RC213V, the Honda machine currently competing in MotoGP) and sports 41mm Showa BPF fork, modified rear shock, lightweight 12-spoke wheels, re-programmed ECU and a revised air intake system.

Honda has been the only official engine supplier of the hard-fought Moto2 class, a unit based on on the engine of the CBR600RR, and this is a further demonstration of the potential of this powerful 4-cylinder.
