Casey Stoner has capitulated on the Japanese GP that will be held next month.
The Repsol Honda rider who was one of the last holdouts has decided to add his name to the roster of MotoGP riders that have confirmed they will be attending Motegi.
Stoner comunicated his decision to the moto journos after Saturday’s qualifying session at Aragon, explaining that since all the tests that have been done and have come back negative (the situation will continued to be monitored while the teams are in loco and it seems by ARPA who did the independent study) so there is no reason not to go, but wife Adriana who is pregnant (and still not showing) will be staying at home.
Several MotoGP teams like Ducati, are organizing themselves in order not to eat the local food and drink the water and will be importing their own foodstuffs.
According to this week’s issue of GP Week the situation for the 125cc and Moto2 classes is slightly different, with riders and managers going, but leaving their crews at home like 125cc team Mahindra who will be hiring other mechanics from Italy and Japan for this race, and will not penalize their exsisting pit crews.
Others, including members of Dorna’s staff are still being pressured in going or face the fact that their contracts will not be renewed next season.
