Giampiero Sacchi (between Biaggi and Dall’Igna in the photo) Aprilia’s former director of Piaggio Group racing operations is heading a new two rider Moto2 team next season.
Sacchi left the Italian manufacturer earlier this year after reported infighting with Leo Mercanti, Aprilia’s General Director and now wants to return to the world he’s been involved with since the ’80’s.
Sacchi’s team, which will be called Yoda Racing Project, is one of the several teams that do not appear on the 2011 provisional Moto2 entry list and are the pending list, but considering Sacchi’s immense background in the business, we think that his team will be accepted, as he’s also working on a Moto3 project for 2012.
After the jump you’ll find the provisional Moto2 entry list for the 2011 season, which has 15 teams and 29 riders accepted so far, pending rider confirmation (and accepted by the governing body) and a security deposit.
