The first day of official testing at Phillip Island, saw three Ducati’s on the top of the charts, with Carlos Checa, the fastest overall.
The Spaniard who won race 2 at the Australian circuit last year put down a hot lap of 1′31.
383 that made him 0.
920s faster than Sylvain Guintoli, second fastest, who led the damp and cold morning session.

Third spot went to Guintoli’s team mate Jakub Smrz followed by reigning Superbike champion Max Biaggi who was a full second off and who had opted to sit out the morning session as did other Aprilia factory rider Leon Camier who finished 15th after suffering a slight mechanical problem.

Michel Fabrizio was fifth with his Alstare Suzuki, taking advantage of the private test he had at Phillip Island last week.
