U.
S.
company Trinity Motorsports has developed a special variant of the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet (997 series), re-dubbed ‘Centro 911′, that comes with a pretty peculiar feature: it’s a single seater, with the steering wheel placed right in the middle of the dashboard.
The passenger compartment is obviously modified accordingly and in place of the usual pair of front seats there’s single central chair.
Dashboard, instrumentation and the entire ventral console moved a few inches to the right (or left, depending on where you are reading this post from, though the gear lever is on the right side).
The owner of the Centro 911 who commissioned the job wanted to pay tribute to the McLaren F1 – although the British hyper-car comes with a 1+2 seat configuration whereas this one can accommodate the driver only).
Trinity Motorsports’s owner and mainman, Mr.
Nigel Tuckey, has already announced that a second Centro 911 will surface in the coming months, and we will surely pay attention to that, but in the mantime check out the original Centro 911 in our photo gallery.
