We’ve all seen the devastating images of the disastrous flooding in Australia that has hit the states of Queensland and Victoria, now our favourite Aussie MotoGP mechanic Alex Briggs, has decided to try to help out in his native country in own personal way by launching an auction on eBay, called the ‘Ultimate Race Day Experience’ to raise money for needy flood victims.
Briggs wrote : “Seeing Australia experience the worst floods on record, many people contacted me on Twitter asking how they could help.
I directed them to the relief appeal at www.

gov.
au/floods but I felt like I wanted to do something more for the Relief Appeals in QLD and VIC.
After reading that a few people in sport had started auctioning prizes to raise money, I decided as an Australian mechanic working for Valentino Rossi in the Ducati MotoGP team, that I could do something similar that would appeal to MotoGP fans.
”“So with the help of Alessandro Cicognani at Ducati, I am able to auction what I think is pretty cool and proceeds will be donated to the QLD Flood Relief Appeal and the Red Cross who are coordinating the Victorian Flood Relief (I am still waiting on authorisation from the Red Cross.
As soon as I have it I will amend this auction information).
”The auction winner will receive: – 2 Pit Passes for race day to the MotoGP Paddock at the race of the winner’s choice during the 2011 Season – A guided tour by Alex Briggs of the Ducati MotoGP Team Garage at that race on race day – Lunch in the Ducati MotoGP Team Hospitality Unit on race day – A chance to meet all the team – And a Ducati “goodie pack” (Briggs describes this as “whatever I can rustle up for you”)Bidding is currently at $4,000 AUD with six days left, so if you’re interested in bidding just click here and you can also follow the auction progress on Alex Brigg’s Twitter.
