World Superbikes searching for a tire supplier for 2013-2015

We may only be in 2011, but Infront Motor Sports who promote the World Superbike Championship is already on the look out for a tire supplier for the 20132015 seasons.
Rumors over the last months or so, have it that current supplier Pirelli, who is entering its eighth season as WSBK’s official one-make tire supplier, may be looking to pull out and may have strung themselves out too much with supplying both Formula 1 and British Superbikes.

We’ve heard rumors that Michelin would like to return to motorsport action, after they were virtually kicked out of MotoGP at the end of 2008, but we could see bids from Bridgestone or even Dunlop.
Press release after the jump: “Infront Motor Sports, the worldwide Promoter of the FIM Superbike World Championship, launches today (Thursday 31st March 2011) the tender procedure for the awarding of the exclusive tyre supply contract for the FIM Superbike and Supersport World Championships, the Superstock FIM Cup 1000 and the UEM Superstock 600 European Championship for the 2013, 2014 and 2015 racing seasons.

“The tender is open to qualified tyre manufacturers who can demonstrate top level international experience and know-how in the supply of racing tyres within the framework of professional motorcycling racing championships.
