Kawasaki is updating its range for 2009 with the new version of the ZXR 1200, a muscular naked that’s not giving up its 70’s style, highlighting some of its characteristics from those years.
Featured is a generous front headlight and windshield with a typical tail completing the aesthetics at the back.
The in line four cylinder engine has electronic ignition and as part of its environmental qualifications, the power has taken a step back.
To control the temperature of the engine, a larger radiator that has 16 percent more cooling capacity.
The transmission has been updated for a more robust gear change, and the emission valves are slighter larger at 31.
5mm.
The chassis is a double cradle frame with standard fork – no dramatic changes have been made in order to maintain the simple efficiency of the structure.
A touch of modernity comes with the disc brakes which are now omnipresent on almost all Kawasaki models.
The only painful note for the moment is that the Kawasaki ZXR 1200 is currently reserved for the Japanese market, but we have high hopes for Europe.
