Andrea Dovizioso fastest in wet warm-up at Valencia

It was raining during this morning’s MotoGP 20 minute warm-up practice at Valencia, something fully expected and despite the treacherous conditions the session was actually entertaining with handful of riders exchanging the top spot as they found their confidence on wet tires lap after lap.

Andrea Dovizioso ended being the fastest rider posting a 1’44″197 with his final lap, that left LCR’s Stefan Bradl in second and 0.

122s adrift.
As usual in the wet the Ducati’s came through, Valentino Rossi who will start in 11th on the grid this afternoon took third followed by Nicky Hayden- who was fastest in the opening practice on Friday morning in the same conditions – and he was just 0.

002 adrift from his departing team mate.
Closely tailing the Ducati duo was Alvaro Bautista who followed by Cal Crutchlow.
The front row qualifiers, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner were further down the charts, not taking any risks at all as Lorenzo was 7th, Dani Pedrosa 10th and Casey Stoner who already said that he’s not taking any chances of further damaging his ankle in the wet in his final race before retirement was 11th and over 1.

8 seconds from Dovizioso – but expect him to forget about his ankle and go into racing mode when he lowers his visor and the lights go out.
